Well our mini team of Passion4Fashion runners took to the hills around Temple Newsome yesterday in aid of Cancer Research. It was a fantastic atmosphere on the day and after the inevitable delays getting in to the car park (yup there were ALOT of people there!) we joined the crowd for opening speeches and a fun warm up. Christine Talbot, Calendar News Presenter inspired us with her positive words about her personal battle against Breast Cancer after being diagnosed on New Year’s Eve.
We accidently joined the ‘runners’ group before the start of the race but thankfully realised just in time and joined the ‘joggers’ which was much closer to our capabilities!
The atmosphere was fantastic and it was really heartening and emotional to read all the personal messages on the back of peoples’ shirts…. from those supporting their own relatives who were fighting or had lost their personal battle against Cancer….people children, parents and friends….to participants that just wanted to be their and do what they can to support the fight against Cancer.
….it was an emotional but extremely positive day and we were all really glad we were there. Yes it’s only us older ones that look exhausted!
Needless to say…we are all aching to varying degrees this morning… but with the start of our wonderful Passion4Fashion workshops imminent, there’s no time for resting!
